Driving Directions

From North and South of Boston:

Take 128 to Exit 26. Exit 26 will put you into a very large rotary over the highway. Take the rotary exit for Route 20 East toward Waltham/Boston. Follow Rt. 20 East (aka Weston Street) for about 1 mile to an intersection with Shell gas station on the left. Stay straight through the intersection, merging onto Main St. (keep Hogan Tire on your left). At the fourth set of lights take a right onto Moody Street.

The Charles River Museum is in an industrial building on your left just before you cross the river. The entrance is set quite far back from the road in a small park along the rivers edge. See the Parking page for a map of parking lots and walking directions to the museum.

From Boston Heading West:

Take the Mass Pike (I-90 West) to Exit 17 Newton/Watertown At the top of the ramp, turn right onto Centre Street. Centre Street becomes Galen Street for no discernible reason. About 1/2 mile from the Pike you will cross over the Charles River (small) and come to a 5-way intersection at the center of Watertown. Take a hard left onto Main St (Route 20 West). Stay on Main St./Rt. 20 West for about 3 miles and you will see the Waltham City Hall on your left. There is a small park/common on your left just beyond City Hall. Pass the common and take your next left onto Moody St.
